See You as You Are

The world is just a glaze today
An image on the windowpane
I turn and subtle lifetimes fade
Like the shadows of the balustrade
I’d like to think the lacquer’s thin
As verdant traces from within
The pavement’s newborn puddles shine
But I stare right through its glossy eyes
The printed letters on the soaking page spell you and me
On the bleeding ink, a rainbow spilt across the sheet
In solipsistic lines your words are real at least to me
The world is just a glaze despite
The orange orbs of firelight
That warm the room inside your eyes
The hearth in mine is cold as ice
Uppercase or lowercase
What does it matter in the haze
Where day and night blur into one’s
Hollow shell of setting sun
The printed letters on the soaking page spell you and me
On the bleeding ink, a rainbow spilt across the sheet
In solipsistic lines your words are real at least to me
Oh, if only I could see you as you are

Moonlight
04:04
|

Again, trying to fish out the sun
Oh let me get carried off
We're like fallen leaves on the brook
A smile in the stars fading out
Won't you take me in your arms
I would tell you how I feel but my heart won't let it come out
You're the moon in the dark
Shining over a cold field
You're the light in the clouds
Like an ocean above me
We're like fallen leaves on the brook
A smile in the stars fading out

These Nights
04:24
|
|||
I see the evening’s sour shade
Upon a path that streetlamps paint
Do you hear whispers in the
Sleepy breeze through the rain
A misty river of hot tears
That’s flowing down like nineteen years
The morning’s sleeping as the
Night clouds slowly waft away
These nights
You find me trapped beneath the rubble
These nights
It all sinks like a heavy pebble
I see the evening’s sour shade
It trickles down your windowpane
Do you hear whispers in the
Sleepy breeze through the rain
Little thoughts singing in the wind
And lucid droplets on my skin
I stand here waiting at your
Door for you to let me in.
